Tricking the Spring Bass

The wind was fairly calm this afternoon and the sun was bright with temps heading for the uper 80's.

I left Tracy watching the Braves and spent a couple of hours at Evans Lake trying out some new tactics.

First I tied on a Crease Fly to see if I could tempt the mid-day bite. The dressed up popper teased this little guy and caused him to do a backflip.

(pictures uploaded using Blogger so they can be made bigger by clicking on them)

The next offering is one of my favorite bass flies. The red and white Seaducer is a saltwater streamer but I've found that the LMB in Evans Lake don't know that.

The final teaser was a mini crankbait called a Snap Bean by Yo-Zuri. Even big fish need a snack now and then.

The population of bass in this pond seem healthy and well fed. This school of newly hatched fry seen along the wall indicate that there will be good fishing through the summer.

Nice to be able to " PUMP UP" the pictures Arnold! If you ever get up to this lake again it would be interesting to see how they would work up here.

Looks like plenty of future fish to educate!
