Evening Bass

I escaped the "anthill" early enough to take Tracy out to dinner at Pier 36.

It was still light enough to fish so I I headed over to try out some of my new poppers on Evans Lake.

I've been tying some spoon flies and East Cut poppers for salt water fishing and needed to get them in the water. I wasn't sure if they would interest the bream, bluegill, or bass in Evans Lake but I needed to wet a line anyway.

I didn't have any luck with the poppers or spoon flies but when I put on a little silverside minnow with a marabou tail I struck "Green".

Catching a nice largemouth on a fly rod is a real hoot. This guy jumped, and made some strong runs before giving up and coming to hand.

It was a short trip but well worth the time spent.

I got to enjoy the work of the Master before heading home.

The yak is already loaded on the tracker and I'm off to bed for a 3:30AM wake up call.

White Bass with Paul on the East Fork tomorrow!

Nice sunset picture. The palm trees make it look like you're in Florida instead of a Texas cow pasture. Hope you catch lots of fish!
