Big Bass, Little Bass

Sometimes when you fish you catch the big ones and sometimes you catch the little ones. This evening, I got lucky and got some of both.

I headed to Evans Lake with the fly rod to see if the Gummy Minnow, SeaDucer, or Paul's new frog pattern would temp a bass or two. Well two out of three ain't bad.

I guess the Gummy minnow is not on the favorite food list of the bass in Evans lake.

I dredged the shoreline with Gummy from Cypress Flats to the brushpile and decided to switch to the red & white "Duce". It wasn't long before I was rewarded with a big hit and away we go!

This big girl wasn't coming in without a fight.

I even caught this blugill on the seaducer.

I switched to the frog right at dusk and had several blow ups including this future lunker:

The sunset was magnificant and made the outing one to remember.

The Book of Job 9:6-8

Who shakes the earth out of its place,
And its pillars tremble;

Who commands the sun not to shine,
And sets a seal upon the stars;

Who alone stretches out the heavens
And tramples down the waves of the sea;

I guess I forgot to mention I invested in a couple oil wells a while back. What did you think I did with all that money I earned at the Alburg Auction House??

Awesome shots my brother. I'm beginning to think that these fish know you by name. By the way check out the pictures from my website. http://www.bayoublacktarpons.com/photos.htm
