Whiting and Skipjack

The surf at Matagorda is usually good for some fun if not some fish.

We have been working around the house all weekend and by Saturday afternoon, it was time for a break.

We tried the beach between Surfside and Galveston first but found the shells to be few and far between and the people were as thick as sand fleas.

A short drive down the coast put us back in familiar territory.

The water was clearing up and was much better than last week. I caught several whiting, hardheads, and lady fish (AKA skipjacks).

You could see what a difference a week could make. Looks quite a bit better.
